Dr. Murray was born in Scotland and received his medical degree from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. He interned at Victoria Hospital, London, ON and then completed a further year of post-graduate training at the University of Michigan, USA, where he was awarded an MS in Physiology. This was followed by three more years of graduate research in Biochemistry at the University of Toronto, Canada, culminating in him being awarded a PhD degree. Dr. Murray had a distinguished teaching and research career at the University during which he received Faculty and Alumni awards for teaching, trained more than a dozen graduate students, published over fifty scientific peer-reviewed papers, authored multiple textbook articles, and has been the Senior Editor of the last seven editions of “Harper’s Biochemistry.”
